the cuckoo’s calling

This was a book by Robert Galbraith, which happens to be a pseudonym for J.K. Rowling. At the time of purchase, I had forgotten that Rowling was a bigot otherwise I would not have bought it.

Coincidentally, there’s a psychiatrist named Robert Galbraith Heath who was a conversion therapist. Rowling says the choice of name was coincidental but come on, who is not googling their pseudonym before committing to it?

The book was well-written, but it took me a bit to get through it. It was a pretty clever whodunit but I hated the main character’s name, Cormoran Strike. It’s almost like they’re trying too hard.

My rating: 3.5/5
