I made a thing! I needed a new table this year and found these plans. My table turned out ok. It’s not as sturdy as I would like, and the one end board is cupping, but what can you do? If I had to do it over again, I would find different plans or modify these. There were some issues with the instructions, the main one being that they attached the top to the apron with screws, and if there’s anything I know from previously being married to a woodworker, it’s that you don’t do that. I did that part the correct way. But I think using 1x lumber for outdoor furniture is maybe not the best thing. Also, it used pocket holes (and glue) for the joinery, but using dowels or biscuits would have made it a lot more sturdy. Anyway, we’ll see how long this holds up. At least I have some new chairs (purchased for cheap via open box on Wayfair).
