I was on Facebook Marketplace the other week because I have some things for sale and was checking my listings. They always show you items you might be interested in buying (whether from previous searches you made or just random crap), and a listing for 50+ pieces of cast iron caught my eye. Do I need 50 pieces of cast iron? I think we can all agree that the answer to that question is no. I did want a couple of pieces, though, especially since I got the smoker–I don’t like using my regular pans in there.
I sat with the idea for a couple of days and couldn’t find anyone to talk me out of the purchase, so I made an offer and picked them up last week. I’m giving away some, keeping some, and selling the rest. There are a few branded pieces in there that I should be able to make a nice return on. At the very least, I should be able to get my money back, but I do expect to make at least a small profit. Also, it will give me something to do this winter (and quite possibly next winter).
