Long story short, I needed to replace the plumbing going to the outside faucet at the front of the house. I think it might have been leaking. Anyway, I was going to call the plumber to do this, but decided to tackle it myself using PEX and Sharkbite connectors (I wasn’t about to solder copper pipes). It turned out well–no leaks so far, anyway. The supply line is above my suspended ceiling in the basement family room, so if it starts to leak at some point, I will know right away. I figured that this was a good test in case I ever need to do any emergency plumbing.
