new market, va

We did this year’s cabin trip in New Market, VA. Once again, it was hot, but not quite as hot as last year. Jake, Amelia, and Ralphie were in attendance this year. We visited Shenandoah Caverns, downtown New Market (for a little shopping), the excellent Cave Ridge Vineyard, and Meems Bottom Covered Bridge (and the Shenandoah River). And we did the usual stuff–puzzles, games, campfire, watching the deer (there were so many deer!), etc. What a fun week! I’m already thinking about next year.

Jake came home with me because he’s taking his Scion tC back to Virginia. And he’ll be here a week because he’s going to the Flood City Music Festival next weekend. One of his favorite bands will be in town, so that worked out well, timing-wise.
