thanksgiving

It was a nice, long weekend. We went to my in-law’s for Thanksgiving dinner. My sister-in-law and her husband and kids were in this year. We don’t get to see them very often because they live in New York, so it made for a nice day. Jake ended up staying there Thursday and Friday night so he could spend some time with his cousins. He had a blast.

Brian and I worked on the house over the weekend. Brian installed one of our new doors in the bathroom. It looks great, but it is now obvious that I’m going to have to strip and refinish the door jambs. Just what I was looking for–more work to do. I started finishing another door, too–this one is for the foyer closet. This project is going to take a while. In other project news, Brian spent some time today finishing the design for the library we’re putting in upstairs. That is going to be one cool room when it is finished, but it’s going to be a while until it is done.

I intended on making my Christmas cards over the weekend, but that kind of got away from me. I came up with some ideas, though, and I did manage to start working on the first set of them today. I figure that I should be able to finish them up by next weekend–just in time to mail them.

I also did some shopping online, but still have more to do. So much for meeting my Thanksgiving deadline. I don’t have too much left to buy, though. But, it is one more thing I need to wrap up soon. I also need to start baking/cooking for Christmas. We’re doing both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day here this year, so that’s going to take some planning, but I’m pretty excited to be hosting both dinners at our house. This will be a first!
