repotting day

Earlier this evening, Brian got my cold frames out of the shed and I put the broccoli, brussels sprouts, cauliflower and dill in them. I was supposed to plant them last weekend, but since it was calling for snow, I decided to hold off until next weekend. After that, Brian was nice enough to puppy sit and otherwise take care of the house so that I could head down to my potting bench and repot my tomato plants. Incidentally, 22 of the 24 seeds sprouted, so I’ll have a nice variety of plants this year.

While I was down there, I also planted zucchini and cucumber seeds and brought some of my other plants upstairs, where they are currently strewn about the dining room.

And, since I was on a roll, I repotted my peace lily plant, which was in dire need of repotting. The plant is quite large and I don’t really have a spot for it in the house, so Brian’s going to take it to the office. It will go well with the snake plant my mom and dad bought Brian for the office.

My pepper plants are ready to be repotted, too. But, I’m holding off for a little bit. There are 48 of those and I only have room for 20 under the lights. So, I’ll face the dilemma I face every year–where to put everything. I have a greenhouse on my horizon so this won’t be a problem forever.
