the holiday

It was pretty laid back this year. We spent Christmas Eve with my family (and Jake's girlfriend) at our house. Dinner wasn't even a challenge--I have this holiday stuff down pat. I feel like I need to challenge myself more next year. Maybe it's time to mix things up! Christmas Day, we went to my in-laws for dinner. That was really about it for holiday socializing (not that we ever did much of that).

I did take a number of days off and am so caught up around the house that I already have next week's grocery list done. Today was especially fun. I wrapped up the leftovers by either eating them or repurposing them (Cranberry Oatmeal Bars and Gnocchi). Not only that, but I also have a batch of beef jerky drying out in the oven as we speak.

Back to work tomorrow for one day and then off again until Tuesday!
