Brian and I caught this movie last week. It was based on the James Patterson novel of the same name. In fact, this might have been the first Patterson novel I ever read. I mostly wanted to watch the movie so I could see how they handled the Alex Cross character. In the movie, he is played by Morgan Freeman, who is rather old. In reality (and given his age in the books), he should be played by someone like Denzel Washington. And really, who would you rather look at for two hours--Morgan Freeman or Denzel Washington? I think the choice is clear. Unfortunately, I missed the beginning of the movie and apparently with it, the interaction with his family, so I may never know.
They didn't really have too much going on with his partner, either. It's been so long since I read the book that I don't remember if this is how the original story went. I'm guessing not, though. Anyway, I thought it was a decent movie, but it probably would've been better had I not known the entire plot.
